Yu-Gi-Oh New Legends Chapter 40. Rachel's past.

*A spot light opens up and in the middle of it is Rachel standing there with her hand's behind her head and a normal expression as she look's behind her before turning around and smile's facing the other way.*

Rachel: Now, we all know that everyone has a backstory to how they became who they are now. A past is always important as it helps us go further on our path to the present. So, it's time for everyone to know of my backstory. You see, My past was much different. I wasn't always the Tomboy i am now.

*Rachel close's her eyes and continues to smile as she holds her head up and the view goes up into the bright blue sky.*

It was a normal sunny day at a kindergarten  as they kid's were outside playing and the teacher's were keeping a eye on them. Over by the sandbox was young little girl with short Brown hair and a cute smile on her face. This girl's name was, Sarah Mcdowell, Age 6. She had just finished digging in the sand when she turned to see a young woman walking up to the teachers.

??: Hello there.

Teacher 1: Hello. Can we help you with something?

??: Yes. My name is Rita Fowler. I called here the other day about my daughter Rachel starting school here.

Teacher 2: Oh yes, We have been waiting for you Ms.Fowler. Where is Rachel?

Rita: She hasn't left my side.

She smiled as she put's a hand down move's a little as a Young girl with long Blonde hair that come's past her shoulder's was holding on tightly to Rita's pants leg and looked up
with a Shy expression. It was Rachel Fowler, Age 6.

Rita: Come on now Rachel, say hi to your teacher's.

Rachel: .......H-Hello.

Teacher 1: She's so cute and so shy.

Rita: Your right about that. A very well behaved girl who is shy but kind.

Young Sarah got up and walked over to the women as she looked at Rachel for a moment as Rachel looked back her while still being shy and hiding behind Rita's leg some.

Sarah: .......Wanna play?

Rachel looked at her for a moment and saw her smiling as Rachel couldn't help but smile as well and nod.

Rachel: Y-Yes. I wanna play.

Sarah: come with me.

The two of them soon headed off to the sand box and laughed some as Rita smiled.

Teacher 2: That's Sarah Mcdowell. She's full of energy and when she want's to play with someone, she's not afraid to ask.

Rita: I think she'll be a great friend for Rachel. She need's to get more confidence about playing with other's. She's had trouble making friends due to her shyness but this just might break her out of her shell.

Teacher 1: Where's your husband?

Rita: ........*Smirks a little* He's the House Wife today as he's watching the two youngest, the two year old twins.

Teacher 2: Now that is mean. I like it.

Rita: Well, i do have 2 older daughter's as well. One's 10 and the other just turned 14. I'm a tough Mother.

Teacher 1: Having 5 Children, it's understandable. Are they all girl's?

Rita: Yes they are. My husband had hoped for a son but the twin girl's arrived and i told him that after they were born, i wouldn't have any more children. I want to raise my girl's to be the best women they can be. I go easy on them but when needed, i can be tough.

As she finished talking and watched Rachel and Sarah Play and soon headed to the swings to have more fun, she knew this would be the start of a great friendship for Rachel having her first friend in Sarah. She made sure to get to know Sarah's parent's later as right now, she wanted to see Rachel smiling wide and laughing truely.

But as we all know, thing's can change drastically in a instant and some, not for the better.

Four Years had passed since then and Rachel was better friend's with Sarah and much less shy as she was walking with Rita down to the bank. Rachel's hair was much longer now as it came down to the middle of her back as she was smiling wide looking up at Rita.

Rachel: Mommy, can we get something to eat soon?

Rita: Of course Rachel. We'll get you your favorite. Burgers.

Rachel: Yay! Mommy, what is Daddy's new job?

Rita: He helps create's cards for a Card game that came to America recently. He's become very well known.

Rachel: .......He still get's in trouble?

Rita hung her head down in defeat a little as she didn't want to admit it but Rachel was on the mark. Bill had always been very dependable and trustworthy but he did have the tendency to act like a sixteen year old alot of times. But she loved him regardless.

Rita: Yeah but that's just how your father is. You want to go see Sarah tomorrow since it'll be Saturday?

Rachel: Can i!? She's my bestest friend and i wanna see her again!

Rita: Heh Heh Heh Heh. Sure. you two get along so well and everything. You two act like sister's at time's.

Rachel: yeah! But i still care about Tina and Amber and Lina and Lisa too.

Rita: You have a big heart Rachel. Keep that kindness and good things will happen.

Rachel: It will?

Rita: That's right. Be kind to other's and they'll be kind to you too and you'll be rewarded for it as well.

Rachel: By who?

Rita: It's a surprise.

As the two of them made it to the Bank, a man wearing a ski mask was running out with a bag of money and crashes into Rita knocking her over.

Rita: Ack!

Man: WATCH IT WOMAN!

Rita looked at him and was able to figure out the situation easily and noticed a Police officer just down the road as she got back up and got Rachel behind her.

Rita: You crashed into me first. You better say sorry.

Man: Your stupid if you think i'm gonna do that! I have better things to do now move!

Rita: I won't move.

Man: CURSE YOU!

What Rita didn't expect was the man to pull out a gun and grin's as he aim's it at her. Without a second thought, the gun is fired and Rachel goes wide eyed as she watches her mother fall to the ground and hit's it hard.

Rachel: MOMMY!!!!!!!

Man: A Kid!? Tsk, i don't have time. I need to leave now!

The man soon ran off as Rachel got on her knees and shook Rita to try to get her attention. Rita coughed some as she looked at Rachel and places her hand on her cheek while smiling a little and a few tears going down her face.

Rita: I'm......Sorry Rachel. Mommy was......trying to be very brave.......for you.

Rachel: Mommy! Y-Y-You.....were very brave. I.....I could never......

Rita: Y-Your.....wrong Rachel. You......have it in you to be brave. Don't.....,let this hold you back.

Rachel: Mommy..........

Rita: Your.....a brave and strong........and kind girl. Re.....mem.....ber to........be strong.....for.....Mommy.

It was then Rita lost consciousness and passed out as Rachel looked over to the police officer to yell for help but soon went very wide eyed as she saw the man in the ski mask and the officer talk and laugh together as they both got into the car and drove off. Rachel Shook greatly as she soon passed out as well but thankfully one of the teller's from the bank came running out after hearing the gun shot and called a Ambulance for them.

After getting rushed to the hospital and examined, The doctor came out to Bill and the four girl's as he told them Rachel passed out from shock but was ok. As for Rita, they removed the bullet but has gone into a coma with no idea of when she'd wake up. Lina and Lisa began crying for her as Amber choked back her tears while Tina kept calm the best she could as she knew Bill was doing the same.

Rachel was released the next day from the hospital as they wanted to do some last minute exam's on her to make sure she was ok and her mental health was fine. It was later that day she looked up at Bill when they were at home.

Rachel: Daddy?

Bill: Yes Rachel?

Rachel: I want to be stronger. Can you help me?

Bill: Stronger?

Tina: *walked in after hearing it* She want's to be stronger so....Why not let her learn Martial art's?

Bill: Are you sure Tina?

Tina: Of course i am. look, You know someone who run's a dojo and they will be great help for this. Beside's.....Rachel can't be the weak little girl anymore.

Rachel: Big sis is right! I wanna be brave and strong so i can keep you and everyone safe from the bad guy's and the bad Police!

Bill: ........Look's like i lose this one. Alright, you two win. I'll call first thing tomorrow.

Rachel: Thank you Daddy!

Tina: Thanks Dad.

Bill: You both do take after your mother. So stubborn but honest.

Tina: Better then being Childish like you.

Bill: Now that was just mean.

Tina: Say's the guy with the goofy grin. Guess i'll have to talk to my manager.

Bill: That's right. You still have your Acting career to deal with. How's High School?

Tina: I'm caught up with everything and still being the same there. not gonna let things go to my head.

Rachel: Big sis is so cool.

Bill: Alright. Let's get thing's ready. Tina, You and Amber will have to help take care of the little one's when i'm not home ok?

Tina: Got it. I'll let her know.

Bill: We can get through this. Nothing can stop this Fowler Family.

After that, Rachel began taking Martial art's classes each day after school while making sure to hang out with Sarah as well and enjoy themselves. Four Years have passed since that fateful day and Rachel was sitting at her desk in middle school looking out the window when the teacher came in.

Teacher: Class, we have a transfer student joining us today.

Everyone but Sarah and Rachel were talking with each other wondering why a transfer student would be coming in now.

Teacher: Come on in.

The student walked in with hands in his pocket's and looked around some as his hair was a bit messy as he had raven colored hair and looked at everyone.

Teacher: Introduce yourself.

Matt: *yawns* I'm Matt Davis. Good to meet everyone. So Teach, where's my seat?

Teacher: You'll be sitting behind Rachel fowler in the far back. The last seat of the 2nd row away from the window.

Matt: Got it.

After that, Matt walked over and sat down in his seat behind Rachel and stretched some.

Rachel looked out the window once more as classes started up again as school was the last thing on her mind right now as she was wondering how her younger sister's were doing in school since they were genius's and did like to play small pranks. It was always the 4 year mark that her mother had been placed in the hospital.

The day went on and soon classes were done for the day as Rachel and Sarah got up to head out when Matt walked up to them.

Matt: Excuse me ladies, Can i ask you something?

Sarah: What's up?

Matt: Know where the nearest electronic store is? I need to pick something up and i don't know the area yet.

Rachel: Might as well. We got some time to kill.

Matt: Awesome. You're Rachel if i remember. What's your name?

Sarah: I'm Sarah Mcdowell. Rachel's best friend.

Matt: Nice to meet you. I'm Matt Davis. So, please lead the way ladies.

After the introduction's, they started to head off and out of the school while walking down the sidewalk some as Rachel looked at Matt for a minute.

Rachel: You know, from how you came into the class and all, I thought you'd be one of those guy's who stays up late trying to get women.

Matt: Staying up late, yes. But trying to get women, i'd rather use my head then my pants.

Sarah: I'm impressed. Not many guy's would admit to it.

Rachel: Tell me about it. I get asked out just about every other day.

Matt: Wait, What!?

Sarah: Yeah. Rachel is one of the most popular girl's in the school.

Rachel: Not my fault when i had to break up those two guys fighting in the gym when the teacher didn't do anything and there were alot of people there watching.

Matt: Huh?

Sarah: Couple of guys got into a fight over something and the Teacher sat back and let it happened. Then Rachel got fed up with it and flipped them both onto their backs with her karate.

Rachel: I just knocked them out is all.

Sarah: They were twice your weight.

Matt: Suddenly i feel like i just got myself involved in something dangerous here.

Rachel: Very funny wise guy.

They finally made it to the electronic store as Matt had finally mapped out the area and smiled some and went inside. He came back out a few minute's later since Rachel and Sarah wanted to stay outside and wait for him.

Rachel: That was fast.

Matt: Just picking up a DVD Player. Had to get one so i can watch my DVD's.

Sarah: Cool. So what do you watch?

Matt: Anime.

Rachel and Sarah: ........Huh?

He gulped some as he had a reflex kick in as he been into anime for a couple years now and been asked that question several time's lately and before he knew it, it became a reflex. The girl's looked at him for a moment with flat expression's as he had a worried expression since he just told a popular girl and her friend what he watches.

Matt: ...........

Rachel: Kinda surprised us there but hey, watch what you want to.

Matt: Huh?

Sarah: Everyone has their own taste's.

Matt: Wait, Wait, Wait. You don't have a problem with it?

Rachel: Should we?

Matt: Your just gonna, accept that fact?

Sarah: You like what you like. It's not up to us to judge you or anything.

He was surprised at this as before, he would normally get strange look's or laughed at but he couldn't resist and threw himself at them and hugged them.

Matt: THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Both of the girl's flipped him over onto the ground with somewhat angry expression's.

Rachel and Sarah: WATCH THE HANDS BUB!

Matt: BLARGH! Ugh......My bad. I was over come with Joy that i couldn't hold back.

Rachel: Huh?

Matt: You two are the first one's to just accept it and not say anything wrong about it. I've been mocked and laughed at before in my school to where i was basically left out of everything and then finally transferred out.

Sarah: Some people are just so........Shallow.

Rachel: No joke. Well, i guess i can't say anything anyway. My dad does work for a company of making cards.

Matt: Cards?

Sarah: Yugioh Cards.

Matt: That's awesome. I'm still getting use to the game myself.

Rachel: Guess the three of us have something in common.

Matt: One question.

Sarah: What?

Matt: Can i have my arm's back so i can get up? The ground is cold.

Rachel and Sarah: Sorry.

They both let go of his arms as he sit's back up and get's to his feet while checking the DVD Player and letting out a sigh as it was undamaged.

Sarah: What kind of deck do you use anyway Matt?

Matt: I go for the Warrior's. Always so cool.

Sarah: Not bad. I'm getting use to some of the Beast's and Beast-warrior's. Mostly Earth and Wind.

Rachel: I'm using Dark type's for now. Dark Magician being a key card while i wait for more Fairy type's and Light monster's.

Matt: Now that is pretty interesting.

Rachel thought of something for a moment before looking back at Matt and wanted to ask him something.

Rachel: Say, wanna hang out tomorrow after school Matt?

Matt: I don't have any plans so, sure.

Sarah: Rare for you to ask Rach.

Rachel: He's.....Interesting and might make a good friend.

Matt: That's some questionable logic. Then again, i do some weird things myself so i can't really say something like it.

Rachel: Do any funny business with me or Sarah and we'll put your foot in your mouth and your hand up your butt.

Matt: R-Right. Roger that.

After that, It was their first meeting and the three of them soon hung out more and got to know Matt a little better while being a bit surprised at how, one of a kind he is with some surprise's and how many time's, he truely act's before even thinking of anything.
Since then, The three of them have hung out together each day after school when they could and had time while making sure to keep up with their studies in class as they made it through Middle school with ease and soon headed to their first year of High school.
But what they didn't know, was that something strange was gonna happen during their first Year of High school.
